Worst score ever!
The worst possible score in bowling is a 290. You're probably thinking how is a 290 a bad score well let me tell you it is.Picture this, you're out with some friends bowling. Maybe you're a good bowler maybe you aren't, it doesn't matter. You get up for your first frame and get a strike. Wow what a way to start off the night. The next two frames are strikes as well. You're thinking, "wow I've got a turkey." Two more frames go by and you're strutting a five bagger (I think that's what they're called). That's pretty good.
Two more frames go by and your perfect game is still rolling. Not only are you playing a perfect game but other people in the alley have noticed and a crowd is beginning to form. Eventually you bowl your tenth perfect frame, then your 11th. "Holy freakin crap!" You say to yourself, "I'm one frame away from a perfect game." You get tense, your hands start to sweat and you look around and see that there is a large crowd all watching, all waiting for you to finish your perfect game, hoping that you won't let them down.
Just then a voice pops into your head chanting, "Don't screw up, Don't screw up, Don't screw up" Over and over again. Your ball comes rolling back, and you stand up and follow the same routine that you have followed for the last 11 frames, except that then you didn't have this nagging voice inside your head, your hands weren't sweating, and nobody seemed to care if you got a strike! But now it's as if the fate of the world rests in your bowling skills. You step forward and go through your motions and just as your about to release the ball that nagging voice inside your head screans, "You're going to screw up!" the voice starles you and you flinch just enough to send the ball straight towards the gutter. Everybody in the crowd is stunned, they can't believe it.
You bowled a 290. That's why a 290 is the worst score, because you get so close to perfection and then blow it by screwing up big while everybody is watching.
